Money Saving Wedding Hacks Every Bride Should Know About

-

Let’s be real, planning a wedding on a budget can be TOUGH - but, truth is, it doesn’t have to be. Catch the latest budget friendly ‘Wedding Hacks’ that every new bride should know about

  1. Switch the time and save a bundle! Ever wondered why all weddings seem to always happen at night? Yeah, well, so did we, and while having a mid-day ceremony and an evening reception definitely is the norm, there’s absolutely nothing that says it has to be.

Breakfast weddings, brunch weddings, lunch weddings, or even just cocktail weddings are quickly becoming all the rage, and with them are a whole bunch of brides who are saving a heck of a lot of cash!

2. Wedding Dresses are like cars. You know how new cars depreciate the second they drive off the lot?! Yeah, well, wedding dresses are kind of the same. While they might stay new and beautiful and might have all the bells and whistles, the moment you bring it home from the bridal shop it definitely depreciates in value.

Now this isn’t such a problem for the unlimited-budget bride who has her sights set on one particular gown and happens to have the cash to afford it brand new, but for all the rest of us mortals out there, there is definitely another option.

Just like many people buy perfectly good cars second hand, you can totally and completely buy perfectly good dresses second hand… and you can save a bundle doing it too!

With todays fast paced society more and more brides are constantly exposed to so many different styles, designers, options, and ideas. They’re shopping around, buying dresses, changing their minds, listing the unworn ones, and reselling ones they got to spend just a couple hours in - so, as a result, you can snag up a barely worn, lightly used, newly dry cleaned, or just flat out new dress for a fraction of the cost of the original. Look beautiful AND save a pretty penny, now that’s one happy (and savvy) bride.

3. Skip the trends, go venue rogue. Ever notice that there always seem to be like 4 or 5 go-to wedding venues in every city? You know, the beautiful ones everyone goes to that have got it down to an art? Yeah, well as amazing as they may be, they often also come with a hefty price tag. Skip the trends, go venue rogue, and find a fun and unique space that hasn’t been used before. Think art-gallery, restaurant, photography studio, coffee shop, local library, town firehall, school courtyard, etc. Towns and cities are often full of incredible and unique spaces that would make the PERFECT backdrop for your beautiful and budget savvy nuptials, and since most of these venues typically don’t host weddings, odds are their rates will be super duper reasonable.

4. Forget the day. While we all obviously love a good weekend wedding, truth is, no one really remembers what day you got married on. Save HUGE by booking your wedding on a Friday, Sunday, or heck, even a random Tuesday! Venues very often have mega discounts for couples willing to book their big day on a typically unused day, so why not take advantage of it! Ten years from now, none of your guests will remember what day of the week or heck, even what date you got married on, so who really cares. All they’ll know was whether or not they had a good time - so ditch tradition, borrow everyone for a Tuesday, cash in that once in a lifetime hookie sick day, and save a bundle!

5. Steal away. It’s funny how many brides feel the need to spend so many hours upon hours trying to come up with new and innovative ways to celebrate their big day. While you obviously want your wedding day to “feel like yours”, there are only so many ways you can reinvent the wheel - and odds are, someone else has done a heck of a great job before you. Don’t be afraid to look around, ask for suggestions, and flat out copy. Look around, take notes, and do some research - odds are no one at your wedding has ever attended the original wedding that you borrowed your ideas from and you can save yourself a heck of a lot of wedding planner cash if you just take your inspiration from those around you. (Maybe just ask permission if you happen to know the inspiring creator first)

6. Next day flowers? Sign us up! Who says your florals have to be grown and picked exclusively for you! When flowers are properly cared for they can last for 3-14 days! So why is it that so often feel the need to buy brand new florals only to . throw them away after 5+ hrs. Save the environment, save the hassle, and save up to 60% when you reuse someone else’s florals for your big day!
